Barbour have come a long way since their beginnings in the late 1800s. Today, they hold strong on their classic designs and innovate new pieces season after season; redefining country style and pushing the boundaries of ready-to-wear fashion while staying true to their heritage on the North East coast. The extensive Barbour range is split up into four specific collections – Lifestyle, Countrywear and Sporting – to help you to choose the perfect piece to suit your lifestyle, and we have outlined more information on these collections below. Where available we display fit and individual product measurements on each product page.
Lifestyle
The Lifestyle Collection is the most versatile range featuring the slim, tailored, regular, and relaxed fits to provide style and comfort. Perfect for town or country, the Lifestyle Collection includes smart, casual, and practical pieces for everyday wear.
Countrywear
As the name suggests, Barbour’s Countrywear collection is designed for a life lived outdoors. Largely made up of regular or relaxed fits for freedom of movement, this collection features Barbour’s classic designs including the Bedale Waxed Jacket and Liddesdale Quilt.
Sporting
The Sporting Collection is a technical range of clothing crafted specifically for country sports. Within this collection you will find specific sporting pieces such as technical country sports jackets, gaiters, and garter flashes. The Sporting Collection is cut to a relaxed fit with chest tolerances built in to accommodate the movements needed for country sports.
BARBOUR FIT GUIDE
Within the Barbour family you will find three distinctive fits across the Heritage, Lifestyle, Countrywear and Sporting collections. On each individual product page, you can find the fit of each garment directly above its name. The collection it belongs to can be found directly below the product name. For many of our Barbour products, you will also find individual product measurements beneath the description on the product page.
Below you will find a breakdown of the different fits, however if you are in any doubt, please contact us for further assistance or guidance. We own lots of Barbour products ourselves and are only too happy to give advice based on our first-hand experience.
Slim Fit
The slim fit is a streamlined fit designed to flatter and follow the body’s contours. Slim fit garments are designed to fit close to the body with few or no layers worn beneath. Slim fit is generally the slimmest fitting of the various fits as it is quite figure hugging it is best suited to slim body types.
Tailored Fit
The tailored fit is more generous than the slim fit, although it is still designed to give a more figure-hugging silhouette than the relaxed or regular fits.

Regular Fit
The regular is Barbour’s most versatile fit. It is not as close fitting as the slim fit as it has enough room for more freedom of movement and for additional layers to be worn beneath where appropriate.

Relaxed Fit
The relaxed fit is a more generous fit than the tailored and regular fits. It is a generous fit designed to enable additional layers to be worn beneath whilst preserving freedom of movement. It is suited to a range of body types, particularly those with a larger build.

MEN’S SIZE CONVERSION GUIDE
Please note: For menswear jackets and knitwear, the UK and USA sizes are shown in inches; therefore, if you have a 40” chest, the guide recommends a size Medium. European sizes are individual numbered sizes and ARE NOT representative of chest, waist, or leg measurements.
