Today, they hold strong on their classic designs and innovate new pieces season after season; redefining country style and pushing the boundaries of ready-to-wear fashion while staying true to their heritage on the North East coast. The extensive Barbour range is split up into four specific collections – Lifestyle, Countrywear and Sporting – to help you to choose the perfect piece to suit your lifestyle, and we have outlined more information on these collections below. Lifestyle

The Lifestyle Collection is the most versatile range featuring the slim, tailored, regular, and relaxed fits to provide style and comfort. Perfect for town or country, the Lifestyle Collection includes smart, casual, and practical pieces for everyday wear.

Countrywear

As the name suggests, Barbour’s Countrywear collection is designed for a life lived outdoors. Largely made up of regular or relaxed fits for freedom of movement, this collection features Barbour’s classic designs including the Bedale Waxed Jacket and Liddesdale Quilt.

Sporting

The Sporting Collection is a technical range of clothing crafted specifically for country sports. Within this collection you will find specific sporting pieces such as technical country sports jackets, gaiters, and garter flashes. The Sporting Collection is cut to a relaxed fit with chest tolerances built in to accommodate the movements needed for country sports.

BARBOUR FIT GUIDE

Within the Barbour family you will find three distinctive fits across the Heritage, Lifestyle, Countrywear and Sporting collections. On each individual product page, you can find the fit of each garment directly above its name. The collection it belongs to can be found directly below the product name. For many of our Barbour products, you will also find individual product measurements beneath the description on the product page.

Below you will find a breakdown of the different fits, however if you are in any doubt, please contact us for further assistance or guidance. We own lots of Barbour products ourselves and are only too happy to give advice based on our first-hand experience.

Slim Fit

The slim fit is a streamlined fit designed to flatter and follow the body’s contours. Slim fit garments are designed to fit close to the body with few or no layers worn beneath. Slim fit is generally the slimmest fitting of the various fits as it is quite figure hugging it is best suited to slim body types.

Tailored Fit

The tailored fit is more generous than the slim fit, although it is still designed to give a more figure-hugging silhouette than the relaxed or regular fits.

Mens size conversion guide notes:

For menswear jackets and knitwear, the UK and USA sizes are shown in inches; therefore, if you have a 40” chest, the guide recommends a size Medium.

European sizes are individual numbered sizes and ARE NOT representative of chest, waist, or leg measurements.

Le Chameau size charts

Le Chameau boots are just as much of an innovation today as when they were very first designed back in 1927. Specifically engineered to handle tough terrains, hard work, and extreme weather, Le Chameau Wellingtons are the boots of choice for farmers, fishermen, and country sportsmen alike. From Coast to Country, Le Chameau boots continue to provide comfort, warmth, and unrivalled protection from the weather.

LE CHAMEAU FIT GUIDE

All Le Chameau boots are handmade on an aluminium last to ensure that the foot and leg are properly supported. Le Chameau recommend that you allow space for thicker socks or trousers if you normally wear these inside your boots, therefore if you prefer a generous fit for prolonged use, or are between sizes, please choose the size above your regular shoe size.

Those with a wider calf, or those wanting to tuck trousers into boots can take advantage of the adjustable calf boots, or the Chasseur wider calf style for added comfort and ease of movement.

Le Chameau boots are available with a range of different liners including leather, jersey and neoprene and are crafted to different shapes to accommodate different uses, however neither of these factors should impact on shoe size or calf width. Over time, neoprene will give a little, as will wool. Leather will mould to your foot and stretch a tiny bit, but jersey will remain true to size.

How to Measure Calf Width

  1. Sit on a chair with your foot and leg bare, your foot relaxed and flat on the floor and your knee bent at a 90-degree angle.
  2. Find the widest point of your calf using a tape measure and measure round that point keeping your foot flat on the floor.
  3. Add 2cm to this measurement to account for your trousers/jeans, a thick pair of socks, and some breathing space.

Alan Paine clothing has three defined fits, ‘Shooting Fit’, ‘Classic Fit’ and ‘Fashion & Tailored Fit’. The fit can be found under the features tab on each product page – please see the fit definitions below in order to help you choose the best style for you.

The Shooting Fit builds 10″ to 12″ into the garment from actual chest size, allowing for movement and layering.

The Classic Fit builds 5″ to 6″ into the garment from actual chest size, allowing for layering.
