At 168 by 90 centimetres this is less a scarf than a wrap, which changes what you can do with it. Folded lengthways it knots at the throat like any other; opened out it goes over the shoulders on a cold evening or across the knees at a point-to-point, and it is soft enough in the hand to be welcome either way. The tartan is dip-dyed, so the colour deepens along the length instead of repeating flat, and where you choose to fold it decides which part of that gradient shows. Pin-fringed at both ends, with a woven Barbour label on the reverse.
