Navy, with spots scattered over it in mint, white, dusky pink and taupe, and a border of fine stripes running round all four sides. The Barbour name is written large in the corner in white script, so it shows when you knot it and stays out of sight when you would rather it did not. The cloth is barely there, an open airy weave you can see daylight through, which means it ties in a soft knot instead of sitting in a lump at the throat. Light enough for a shirt in July and pretty enough over a quilted jacket in October, and big enough to open across the shoulders when you want it to.
