A six-panel cap is about the most ordinary shape a hat can be, which is rather the point of doing it in tartan. The proportions are familiar enough that nobody looks twice, while the cloth and the corduroy peak stop it being a baseball cap in the American sense: it sits happily under a hood or over a Barbour without arguing with either. The back strap adjusts on branded studs rather than the plastic snap you find on a giveaway cap. Cotton throughout, peak and lining included, with the Barbour name embroidered small on the left.
