The glove you actually reach for is rarely the technical one. It is the soft plain pair that lives in a coat pocket and goes on for the walk to the car, the dog before breakfast, the queue at the feed merchant. These are knitted in lambswool, which is as soft as wool comes and does not prickle at the wrist, cut close and unlined so there is no bulk to them at all.
