A summer toy rather than a winter one, and no tartan on it anywhere, which is unusual for this range. What you get instead is a plush starfish in seaside colours with a squeaker hidden away in the middle and an embossed Barbour badge on the top. The five arms turn out to be the whole point of it: they give a dog something to take hold of and shake, which a round toy never quite manages. Small, light and soft enough to pack for a week in Cornwall without filling the boot. Hand wash at 30°C.
