Ferns, drawn as though someone had pressed them between the pages of a book and printed the result. Each frond stands upright on its own stem in two or three tones against a flat ground, which gives the pattern an orderly, botanical feel rather than a scattered one. The colour pairings are the interesting part: pale pink and white on cornflower blue, deep pink and cream on sage green, navy and pale blue on warm terracotta. Not one of them is the obvious choice and all three come off. Soft twill cloth, neatly hemmed, with an easy drape.
