Camouflage works until you look up. A pale face turned skyward is the thing that flares birds and puts a deer’s head up, which is where a peaked cap in matching camo earns its place: it shades the face and breaks up the outline of the head at the same time. Ghostcamo is Percussion’s photographic pattern, real leaf and bark rather than the blocky camo of forty years ago, so it settles into a hedge properly. The peak is stiff and curved, there is a sweatband right round the inside, the shell is coated to see off a shower, and the strap at the back adjusts to fit anyone.
