Pile is not the same thing as fleece. It is a longer, deeper nap that stands up off the backing and holds a great deal more air, which is what makes this the warmest of Barbour’s liners rather than simply another one. Barbour themselves offer it as the alternative to the quilted liner, and the choice is straightforward enough: quilted for a cold day, pile for a properly cold one. Two large patch pockets with bound edges, vents at the sides, and a zip that takes it into the interactive jackets. Order the same size as the jacket.
