This is the piece that turns a wax jacket into a winter coat. Barbour put a zip inside their jackets so a liner can go in, and the Betty is cut slim enough to disappear under one without adding bulk at the shoulder. Diamond quilted outside, fleece within, with deep patch pockets and grosgrain binding at the edges. Out of the jacket it is a perfectly good gilet in its own right, which is the sensible part of the design: you are not buying a component but two garments.
