The difference between a boot sock and an ordinary one is what happens after two hours. Wool on its own soaks up sweat and then sits wet against the skin. Here it is knitted half and half with polypropylene, which absorbs nothing and carries the moisture out to where it can dry, so the wool goes on warming without the damp. Underfoot is terry loop padding, a towelling pile that cushions the hard edges of a boot through a long day, with grips worked into the sole beneath it. Machine washable at thirty, which not every wool sock is.
