Nearly everything in a country wardrobe is olive, brown or tan, which is restful and also exactly why a plum scarf earns its keep. The check is drawn in deep burgundy with broad blocks of pale pink and grey, colours that lift a navy or black coat and sit better against green wax than you would expect.
