A cap in tartan is a different proposition from a plain one. The check runs over six curved panels, so it bends and shifts with the shape of the cap rather than lying flat, and what you end up with is the one people notice, and the one you can pick out of the heap on the back seat. An embroidered shield sits at the front, small enough to leave the pattern to do the talking, with a branded slide adjuster at the back.
