Baffle quilting is the reason this one is warmer than it looks. In ordinary stitch-through quilting the seam pinches the filling flat and you get a cold line wherever the stitching runs. A baffle puts a wall of fabric between the chambers instead, so the loft carries right across without interruption. Behind the face there is a polyurethane membrane, which keeps the weather out as well as the warmth in. It is cut long, with studded vents so you can walk properly, faux leather piping down the front and a detachable fur trim at the hood.
