Spiced pumpkin, elderberry, arabesque. These are not the colours of an ordinary country check. Where most checked shirts settle for olive and brown and leave it there, the Moorland goes at it with some warmth, which is really the whole reason to own one: it does the lifting on a grey February morning that a muted check never will. Cut regular in pure cotton, with a Kent collar, single-button cuffs and no chest pocket, so the front stays clean and it reads nearer to a blouse than to workwear. Sizes 8 to 22, a wider run than most. Machine wash at 30°C.
