The plain flat cap, done properly. No ear flaps, no membrane, no baseball peak, just pure wool tweed cut in the shape that has been worn in this country for well over a century, with the peak snap-fastened to the crown in the traditional way. It is fully lined, and the overcheck is what saves it from dullness: threads of red, blue, purple or yellow running through the olive ground, depending which you choose. Eight sizes from 56 to 62cm, which is a wider run than most caps offer and means there is genuinely one that fits.
