There is something of the lino-cut about this one. The flower heads are pared back to spokes of cream, each finished with a few fine black lines standing in for the stamens, set against one flat colour with no shading and no gradient, just shape. That graphic simplicity is why it holds its own against a plain coat, and why it will not date the way a painted floral can. The cloth is light and soft with a gentle drape, hemmed at the ends rather than fringed. Two colourways, both of them strong: a deep petrol teal, and a warm mustard that comes into its own in autumn.
