Nylon is the fibre that resists abrasion, so a high proportion of it means a sock built for the rubbing a wellington does over a long day rather than for feeling luxurious in the drawer. The wool still does the warming. It is cut extra long, so it comes well up over the boot top with nothing left bare, and it is the sort of sock you buy three pairs of and stop thinking about.
