Look past the red poppies and there are more behind them, printed pale pink and half faded, as though glimpsed through the first layer. It is a simple trick and it gives the print a depth that a flat floral never manages. The flowers themselves are drawn loose and open on green stems, the way poppies actually stand at a field edge rather than arranged in a bunch. The ground is a soft ivory and the cloth is very sheer and light, so it ties small at the throat and sits close without bulk. A single colourway, and it is the right one.
