Rats do not come out until the light has gone, which is the whole reason for a fifty on a rifle this size. Around a barn or a feed store at dusk, with a lamp on the beam and a range of fifteen or twenty yards, a bigger bell is worth a great deal more than extra magnification would be. Three to nine is ample for the distances involved, the mil dots cover the drop if you take a longer shot across the yard, and at this money you will not stand there worrying about where you put the rifle down.
