An ordinary knitted glove is very little use in wind. The yarn traps air beautifully until a breeze blows straight through the stitches and carries the warmth off with it, which is why hands go numb on an exposed hill in gloves that were perfectly comfortable in the yard. The Necton sets a membrane between the knitted outer and the lining, so it looks and feels like a knitted glove while the wind stops at the surface. Worth being clear that it is windproof rather than waterproof. Washes at thirty and dries on the line.
