There is no wool in this one, and that is deliberate. Polycolon absorbs almost nothing, so sweat passes straight through to the outside of the sock and evaporates rather than sitting in the fibre. The practical result is a sock that is dry again quickly, which matters in warm weather, on a long walk, or when you have one pair with you and a second day to get through. It is treated against bacteria as well, which is the polite way of saying it does not start to smell. Ultralight and close fitting, so it takes up no room in a boot.
