No two trees here are quite the same. There are round-crowned ones in mustard and grey with their branches scribbled in fine dark lines, conifers reduced to a feathery spike, little squared-off shapes like clipped topiary, and sprigs of seed heads standing between them. It reads as a whole small wood rather than one motif repeated, which is what keeps the eye moving across it. The colours are restrained, navy and ochre and grey on white, so it stays grown-up rather than tipping into a children’s print. Fine, light cloth with a frayed edge.
