Four pockets, which is two more than an overshirt usually manages. Flapped patch pockets at the chest for the things you would rather did not fall out when you bend over, and welt pockets at the sides that your hands will actually go into. The cloth is a proper cotton canvas, nearer to workwear than to shirting, so it has some body about it and will wear in rather than wear out. Plain colours here: navy, dark stone or fern, with a faux leather Barbour label at the right chest and the tartan kept out of sight inside. Regular fit, small to XXL. Machine washable.
