Three to nine by forty has been the standard sporting scope for half a century, and the reason is that it declines to be clever. Nine is magnification enough for a fox across a field, and three leaves you field of view enough to find a bolting rabbit. The Duplex reticle works on the same principle: heavy posts at the edges that funnel the eye to the middle in the last twenty minutes of light, and a fine cross at the centre that does not sit over what you are aiming at. One inch tube, quarter-MOA clicks, parallax set at a hundred yards.

Alan Paine Sizing Charts

Alan Paine clothing has three defined fits, ‘Shooting Fit’, ‘Classic Fit’ and ‘Fashion & Tailored Fit’. The fit can be found under the features tab on each product page – please see the fit definitions below in order to help you choose the best style for you.

The Shooting Fit builds 10″ to 12″ into the garment from actual chest size, allowing for movement and layering.

The Classic Fit builds 5″ to 6″ into the garment from actual chest size, allowing for layering.

The Fashion & Tailored Fit builds 6″ to 8″ into the garment from actual chest size for a closer fit.
